Replace the old pump with a new one

One of the most effective and relatively easy ways to lower your electric bill while improving your home comfort is to replace the old circulator pump in your heating system. In Europe most buildings are equipped with inefficient circulators from the late 1990s. These pumps work inefficiently and replacing them can bring up to 80% energy savings. Is yours among them? We'll show you the key benefits of switching to an energy-efficient pump today, including a sample calculation of how much you can save on annual operation by replacing your pump.

Save up to 80% on energy costs

Replace the old pump with a new one.

Old pumps are inefficient and expensive to run

What is different about the new efficient pumps?

In older heating systems, there are still many standard pumps of the older type, the so-called three-speed pumps, which are characterised by high power consumption with a three-speed constant pump setting.
Nowadays, these old-style products no longer comply with the so-called ErP directive. Today, electronically controlled speed-controlled pumps are sold which not only have better settings and more functions, but also save up to 80% electricity compared to the old-style pumps. In comparison, the annual consumption of a new pump is 40-100 kWh, whereas an old pump can consume up to 700 kWh.

Benefits of replacing circulators

QUICK RETURN ON INVESTMENT

IMMEDIATE ENERGY SAVINGS

REPLACE IT NOW AND SAVE THOUSANDS A YEAR

EXTENDED WARRANTY

Fast return on investment

  • The return on investment for replacing circulators is usually very short. In the case of old pumps from the late 1990s, it can be only a few months.
  • Replacing a circulator that is more than 20 years old will save up to 80% of the energy and the return on investment is 3-6 months
  • When replacing circulators that are 10-15 years old, the return on investment is 1-3 years

Immediate energy savings

  • Old circulators often operate at full capacity regardless of the actual heat consumption.
  • Modern circulators have an energy-saving permanent magnet motor and are equipped with smart operating modes. They can adapt to changes in the heat required and do not operate at full power when not needed.
  • Replacing a circulator can save up to 80% of the original pump's energy consumption

Replace it now and save thousands a year

  • Old circulators use more energy than your fridge or induction hob.
  • With today's high electricity prices, the savings from replacing your pump may be an investment worth considering. Leading manufacturers of circulator pumps talk about savings of more than CZK 4,000
  • For large wet-running circulators for heating and hot water circulation in apartment buildings, manufacturing plants, schools, hospitals, etc., these savings can be huge.

WILO Stratos PICO

One of the most advanced and economical circulators for heating is the new generation of the Stratos PICO pump from Wilo. This new product is extremely economical thanks to the automatic and continuous regulation of the pump performance provided by the Dynamic Adapt Plus function. This enables the pump to adapt the speed control once at the start of the installation and continuously reacts to changes in the heating system.
In addition, you can easily check consumption and other data on the colour display or via Bluetooth connection and mobile app.

Did you know that...?

  • Everysecond residential house in the Czech Republic is equipped with a circulation pump that is more than 10 years old. If all these pumps were replaced, they would save at least CZK 10 billion in electricity annually
  • Heating systems and boilers consume most of the energy in a house. They account for up to 60% of all energy and the 3rd largest contributor to energy consumption in the home is the circulator
The annual consumption of a new pump is in the range of 40-100 kWh, while an old pump can consume up to 700 kWh
  • Replacing a circulator older than 20 years will save up to 80% energy and the return on investment is 3-6 months
  • When replacing circulators 10-15 years old, the return on investment is 1-3 years
  • New pumps can be up to 10 times more efficient than old pumps 200 million pumps worldwide are obsolete and use more energy than necessary, of which 100 million inefficient pumps are installed in Europe
  • In Germany, an amendment to the Energy Performance of Buildings Act (GEG) makes it mandatory to replace obsolete circulators within three years
